How do I book an appointment?
Please take a look at our "NEWS" page for full instructions.
How much does it cost?
£7 per half an hour. If you book two consecutive slots, the 10 minute buffer time in between is free. 6 dogs max (unless previously agreed with DDF). More than 2 friends sharing the field are respectfully asked to book a double slot.
Where are you?
We are situated in between Stansted and Saffron Walden (close to Clavering). Sat nav/google maps should bring you here. We have two gates - please use the gate with the BLUE SIGN on. You will receive the gate code upon booking and in your email reminder notification. You need the same code to get back out again. It is advised that customers (even locals) drive to the field as we are on a country lane with no pavements provided. Please take extra care when entering/exiting the property and ensure you abide by the speed regulations when driving through the village. Howland Farm House Rickling Road Wicken Bonhunt CB11 3UH
Will there be other dogs there?
No - the field is exclusive hire for you and your own dogs (unless you are joining one of our play dates). There is a 10 minute gap between customers to ensure dogs do not meet as some can be reactive. There are no farm animals in the surrounding fields.
Is the field safe and secure?
We have had no escapees in the 3+ years that we have been open. The fences are checked twice daily. The fences are 6ft high so, if your dog can jump this, it might not be the place for you. The fences are also buried in the ground to stop anyone digging to freedom. The gaps in the wire are smaller at the bottom so little breeds are safe too. The car park area is NOT secure so please keep your dog on lead before entering the field. Regards to safety - the field is checked twice daily and maintained to a high standard. Every step is made to made to ensure the safety of you and your dog but accidents can happen. As per our t&cs, you use the field entirely at your own risk. To help us keep it safe, please can you leave the field as you would wish to find it i.e do not leave chewed balls etc on the field as these can be a choking hazard. Covers are provided in the shed if you do not want your dog to see the ball pit/paddling pool. Please take any rubbish home with you and do not put it in the poo bin. Please wear appropriate footwear, especially when it might be wet and muddy. You are more than welcome to view the field before visiting to see if it is suitable for your woof.
Can I use the field for professional use?
Dog trainers/walkers etc are more than welcome to hire the field but their own insurance will be needed whilst here. Please contact us direct for prices/booking.

Please ensure children do not climb on the fence, use the agility equipment/tunnel, ballpit or paddling pool. These are for DOG USE ONLY As per our T&Cs, DDF will take no responsibility for any injury caused whilst using the field.

There is a small shelter in the field if you get caught out and it pours down or (we live in hope) it gets too hot. A doggy paddling pool will be provided in the warmer months.
